FIL Sport and Technical Commission Meetings

Meetings of FIL Expert Commissions

Preparations for the FIL Congress in Sochi

St.Leonhard/Austria (pps) The main focus of the meetings of the Expert Commissions of the International Luge Federation (FIL), which were held this past weekend in St. Leonhard near Salzburg (Austria), was the preparation for the world federation's 58th Congress. The Congress will take place in Sochi, Russia, in June.

In the meetings, the International Luge Regulations (IRO) proved to be a solid basis for the staging of competitions because numerous motions for changes submitted by National Federations did not receive a two-third majority, which is required for the motions to be submitted to the Congress. Besides this, the four Expert Commissions artificial track (sport and technical affairs) and natural track (sport and technical affairs) reviewed the Olympic season.

Furthermore, the event schedule for the coming season was discussed, which is expected to receive final approval by the Executive Board at the beginning of May.
